One and a half tonnes of 'illicit tobacco' found in Glenrothes raid
Two men have been charged with evading £4m in excise duty after customs officers uncovered one and a half tonnes of suspected illicit tobacco.
They also seized £11,300 in cash and large quantities of tobacco packaging during the raid in Glenrothes.
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) believe the property was being used as an "illicit tobacco packaging factory".
Two men, aged 27 and 31, have been charged and released pending further inquiries.
HMRC said a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
