Witnesses reported the "unpleasant and unsettling" incident in the Lagoons area of Musselburgh in East Lothian on Thursday at 10:15.

The man, who was walking a golden Labrador, was described as having "no clothing on the lower half of his body".

He walked towards the Goose Green area by which time he was fully clothed.

Police are calling for witnesses to come forward.

The man is white, in his 20s or early 30s, about 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build.

He was wearing a dark grey hooded top with the hood up and when fully clothed was also wearing light grey shorts.

Sgt Laura White, of Police Scotland, said: "Various members of the public witnessed this indecency, which was unpleasant and unsettling for them.

"While we have spoken to several witnesses we are keen to hear from anyone else who was in the Lagoons or Goose Green area on Thursday morning and saw anything suspicious.

"Similarly, anyone who recognises the description of the suspect or who has any other information relevant to this investigation should also contact police immediately."
