Arrest after OAP knocked to ground and robbed in Leven

A man has been arrested over the robbery of an elderly woman who was knocked to the ground.

The victim, who is in her 80s, was knocked over and robbed of her handbag while she walked along William Laing Crescent in Leven, Fife.

Police said the pensioner was shaken but not hurt following the incident which happened on Sunday.

A 32-year-old man has now been arrested and is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

Det Sgt Alex Raeside said: "We had a really positive response to our appeal for information and I want to thank the people of Leven for their assistance with our investigation."
