Police identify Dunfermline assault victim
Police in Fife have now identified a man who was the victim a serious assault in the early hours of Sunday .
Officers had earlier issued a description of the man who was being treated for a serious head injury after the attack in Dunfermline.
He is 21 years old and remains in a serious condition at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
Another man has been detained in connection with the incident which took place in New Row at about 01:50
Det Insp Chris Mill said: "The victim is currently in a serious condition and we're working to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
"I'd ask anyone who witnessed this incident, or has any information which can assist with the investigation, to come forward."
