Thieves steal £80,000 of Louis Vuitton handbags from Edinburgh shop

Two thieves who stole designer handbags worth £80,000 in a raid on an Edinburgh store are being sought by police.

The robbery happened at about 03:45 at the Louis Vuitton shop in the city's Multrees Walk precinct.

The white men, both in grey hooded tops and dark trousers, ran to Dublin Street before escaping in a silver saloon car.

The first suspect was about 30 years old, 6ft tall with a prominent nose. The second was between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall, of medium build.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the "incredibly brazen" robbery.

Det Insp Graham Grant said: "Despite the early time of this break-in, this was an incredibly brazen incident in an area that sees regular footfall throughout the day.

"We are carrying out various lines of inquiry in the area in an effort to trace the suspects and are now appealing to the public for their assistance.

"It is believed these males have travelled there on foot and so I would appeal to anyone who has seen these men or their vehicle, before, during, or after this incident, or who has information on the whereabouts of the handbags to contact police."
