Man killed after hit by train close to Edinburgh Park station
A 30-year-old man has died after being struck by a train near Edinburgh Park station.
British Transport Police said the incident was reported to them just after 14:00.
The train was the 13:15 Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh service. Scotrail said two lines between Linlithgow and Edinburgh were closed until 17:00.
It said although the lines had reopened there was "ongoing disruption" due to a backlog of services.
The two lines affected run between Glasgow and Edinburgh via Falkirk High and between Helensburgh and Edinburgh via Airdrie and Bathgate.
Edinburgh/Glasgow Queen Street services were diverted via Dalmeny.
A ScotRail spokeswoman said: "The line has now reopened, however services will be subject to residual delays, alterations and cancellations until approx 17:45"
