A man is to stand trial after he denied murdering a two-year-old girl in Fife.
Kevin Park is accused of killing Madison Horn at a property in Kelty on 20 April 2014.
The 26-year-old faced the claim as he made his first public appearance in the dock at the High Court in Glasgow.
The murder charge claims Mr Park shouted at Madison, pulled her hair, lifted the child up and repeatedly struck her head against a wall.
It goes on to allege that he bit the toddler on the body before repeatedly striking her again "by means to the prosecutor unknown".
Mr Park's QC Mark Stewart entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
Judge Lord Uist set a trial due to begin on 3 November at the High Court in Livingston.
It is believed the case could last up to two weeks.
