Son of former boxer accused of murder

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a former boxer on Monday.

Police cordoned off streets around the scene in Stenhousemuir, near Falkirk, after the discovery of the victim Andrew Main, 57.

His son, Derek Main, 35, appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Wednesday, charged with murder.

He made neither plea nor declaration at a brief hearing, held in private, before Sheriff Robert Vaughan.

Main was committed for further examination, and remanded in custody.

He is expected to appear again on 15 July.
