Police make suspicious house fire appeal
Police are appealing for witnesses following a suspicious fire in a house in Fife.
The fire broke out at about 01:30 on New Year's Day at a house in Sinclair Gardens, Cowdenbeath.
All of the people in the house escaped without being hurt. The police have now launched an investigation.
Det Sgt Graham Watson, of Police Scotland, said: "Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of this reckless act."
He added: "Nevertheless, the consequences could have been far worse and we are treating this matter very seriously.
"Anyone who was in the Sinclair Gardens area at the time of the fire is asked to contact police immediately.
"Similarly, anyone with any further information that can assist with our inquiries is also asked to come forward."
