Searches stood down after two bodies found in Fife

Separate searches for two missing people in Fife have been stood down after two bodies were found.

A woman's body was found on a beach at Dumbarnie Links, near Upper Largo. Shortly afterwards, police divers, who had been searching the River Leven since Monday, recovered a man's body.

Thomas Brown, 17, was last seen in Methil at 22:00 on Friday.

Police have also been searching for Catriona Kennedy, 29, who was last seen in Leven at 22:30 on Monday.

Ch Insp Graeme Kinmond, of Police Scotland, said: "Police officers have been searching for two missing people, one reported to us on Saturday and the other on Tuesday night.

"Formal identification on both bodies has yet to take place, however I can confirm that we have now stood down the searches."
