A 68-year-old man has died after his car left the road and hit a lamppost in Fife.

The incident occurred just west of the junction of the A921/B923 at about 12:30.

The man was taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, where he died shortly afterwards.

Police Scotland said his wife, who was a front seat passenger in the vehicle, was also taken to hospital but was uninjured.
