Boat towed to safety after blaze in Firth of Forth
A pilot boat has been towed to shore after a fire broke out on board.
Crew on the Forth Leopard raised the alarm at 03:30 when they were in the middle of the Firth of Forth.
The two crew told Forth Coastguard they had used the onboard fire control system to seal the engine room during the incident.
Forth Ports tug Fidra towed the boat into Leith Docks, where Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service checked the fire was out.
There were no reports of injuries.
A pilot boat is used to transport marine pilots to and from ships so that they can help navigate in and out of the firth.
