Driver dies days after West Lothian crash

An Edinburgh driver has died following a two car crash in West Lothian.

Stanley Elliot, 73, from Stockbridge, died at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on Friday following Wednesday's crash.

The collision involved a blue Mini Cooper that was travelling west on the A71 Edinburgh to Kilmarnock road, half a mile west of Dalmahoy, at 1230 GMT.

The 20-year-old driver of the Mini was also taken to hospital, where he was treated for injuries to his face and neck.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the blue Mini on the A71 before the crash to come forward.
