Masked man in knifepoint robbery at Livingston shop

A masked robber armed with a knife has stolen a three-figure sum of cash from a shop in Livingston.

The man, wearing a balaclava, entered the Best One shop in Nigel Rise, Dedridge, at about 1645 GMT on Saturday.

He threatened the two members of staff and demanded they open the till, before making off with the cash.

The suspect is described as white, about 5ft 8in tall, slim build, wearing black clothing.

Two customers were also in the store at the time.

A police spokesman said: "Thankfully the victims were uninjured, however they are understandably distressed as a result of this ordeal, and we are appealing for any information that can help us trace the man responsible.

"Similarly, anyone who recognises the description, or who has any other information that can assist our inquiries, should get in touch with police as a matter of urgency."
