Man remanded over sex attack on woman in Livingston

A man accused of raping a 27-year-old woman in Livingston, West Lothian, has been remanded into custody.

Barry Macmillan appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court charged with breach of the peace and rape.

The charges relate to an alleged attack close to a path between Cedarbank and Cloverbank in the Ladywell area, at about 1715 GMT on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old, from Livingston, made no plea or direction and the case was continued for further examination.
