Fire crews have been tackling a blaze in the roof of a block of flats in the east end of Glasgow.

Six fire engine pumps, three aerial units and a command unit fought the blaze at the four-storey block in Tollcross Park Gardens on Friday.

Scottish Fire and Rescue said they were called to the building, close to the McVities biscuit factory, at 18:39.

The building was evacuated and two people were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.

The fire service said the casualties were passed into the care of the ambulance service.

The operation to tackle the fire was ongoing.
