Appeal after Perth taxi driver attacked

Police have appealed for witnesses after a man assaulted a Perth taxi driver and vandalised his car in the early hours of New Years Day.

The driver was dropping off a customer in Ballantine Place at about 03:45 on 1 January when he was approached by another man.

The attacker shouted at the taxi driver and assaulted him before damaging the car.

Police said the driver was "shocked but unhurt".

The suspect is described as being in his early 30s, with short blonde hair, of average height and slim build. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark jacket which had red colouring on the sleeves and shoulders.
