Woman's body found at Stirling railway station

An investigation is under way after police searching for a missing woman recovered a body at Stirling railway station.

A member of the public made the discovery at a piece of wasteland near the station at about 13:55 on Monday.

Officers said the woman's death was currently being treated as "unexplained".

The family of missing Stirling woman Christine Henley are being kept up to date with the inquiry.

The 49-year-old was last seen by her family on 26 November and CID officers joined the search for her last month.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said inquiries were ongoing to establish the dead woman's identity and determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
