Flood alerts issued across Scotland

Flood alerts have been issued across Scotland with heavy rain and strong winds predicted over the next 24 hours.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency warnings have been issued for areas of Tayside, Fife, Dundee and Aberdeenshire.

Local authorities are working to prepare for any potential flooding problems across the affected areas.

Commuters have been warned to allow themselves extra time in case of travel delays from the adverse weather.

A flood warning has been issued for Fife's Kirkcaldy area, while in Tayside flood warnings have been issued for Aberbothrie, Bridge of Ruthven to Leitfie and The River Isla to Coupar Angus areas.

Elsewhere, flood alerts have also been issued for Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City as well as Dundee and Angus areas.
