Man arrested after Angus farm road crash

A 34-year-old driver has been arrested after a car plunged 10m (32ft) off a private farm road near a bridge and ended up in a stream.

Police said the man was driving a black Hyundai car when it left the road close to Dalbog Farm, near Edzell in Angus, at about 22:30 on Saturday.

The driver and front seat passenger climbed from the car but a third passenger was trapped.

Emergency services rescued the 57-year-old man.

The narrowness of farm road and the terrain where the car had landed made the rescue very difficult for ambulance crews.

The injured man was taken to a specialist spinal unit in Glasgow, where his condition was described as stable.

A crash investigation has been carried out at the scene and report is being submitted to the procurator fiscal.
