Drug treatment 'not reaching addicts'


Figures show that more than a third of Scots who died from the effects of drugs had not received any treatment for the addiction.

The government said the figures were distressing and showed the need for early access to treatment. One leading expert has said that drug treatment programmes are failing to reach out to addicts.
