BT said the broadband problems have now been resolved

BT customers in parts of Scotland were left without broadband services on Wednesday afternoon for the second time in a week.

BT said it had experienced disruption after the repeat of a technical issue which happened last Friday.

"The issue has been fixed and broadband services are being restored to affected customers," a spokesman said.

On Friday, a technical fault at an exchange in the Edinburgh area hit tens of thousands of homes across the UK.

BT said that most customers affected on Wednesday only lost their service for a short period of time.
