Boy, five, hurt by window missile

A five-year-old boy was treated in hospital for glass cuts after a missile was hurled through the front window of his family home in Glasgow.

A second object, which had been set alight, was thrown at the door of the house in Haughburn Road, Pollok, causing minor fire and smoke damage.

The boy's 31-year-old mother was also in the house when the missiles were thrown just after 2300 BST on Saturday.

No-one was seriously injured but police are treating it as attempted murder.

Det Sgt Wilson Davidson said: "Our investigation is at an early stage and we are currently working to establish a motive for this reckless and mindless act which could have had far more serious consequences.

"We believe that a group of male youths may have been responsible, however, we are not clear exactly how many were involved.

"All we know at this stage is that they were wearing dark clothing and are described as aged between 20 and 25 years of age."
