Tributes have been paid to the teenager who was killed in a road accident in County Down on Friday night.

Odhran McGreevy, 17, from the Loughinisland area died in a two-car collision on the Newcastle Road near Seaforde.

SDLP councillor Patsy Toman said Mr McGreevy was from a well-known and respected family.

"They've had an awful loss, he was very bright and did well at school, for them to lose him like that is just awful."

Two people in the other car involved were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.
