Donegal alert: Bomb made safe in Carrigart, near Milford
A bomb has been made safe in County Donegal by the Irish army.
The defence forces were called to the scene at Carrigart, near Milford, at about 08:45 BST on Friday.
"The device was made safe at the scene, without the need for a controlled explosion and was taken away to a safe military location for further testing," a spokesperson said.
"It was later confirmed as a viable improvised explosive device (IED)."
A number of houses were evacuated during the alert and roads were closed. It ended at about 10:40 BST.
