Post office in Limavady is robbed

A post office in Limavady has been robbed.

The robbery occurred at the branch on the Drumsurn Road at about 1000 BST on Monday.

A well-built man wearing a khaki jacket and armed with what appeared to be a handgun entered the premises and demanded staff hand over an undisclosed amount of cash.

A police spokesperson said detectives investigating believe the robber may have escaped in a car.

An elderly customer, who was in the shop when the robbery happened, is being treated for shock.
