County Wexford: Two men dead after light aircraft crash
Two men have died after a light aircraft crashed in County Wexford, gardaí (Irish police) have said.
The aircraft crashed at about 17:45 local time on Sunday in Ambrosetown, near Duncormick.
Gardaí and emergency services, including an Irish coastguard helicopter, attended the incident.
The aircraft, understood to be Condor two-seater, took off from a nearby airfield at Taghmon earlier in the evening.
Irish national broadcaster RTÉ said that initial reports indicate that the small airplane broke up, either on impact with the ground or shortly beforehand.
The area has now been cordoned off.
It is reported that the wreckage from the plane has been spread over a wide area.
Inspectors from the Air Accident Investigation Unit have begun an investigation and the Irish Aviation Authority has been notified.
The ages of the men are not yet known.
Their bodies have been removed from the scene for post mortem examinations.
