Burglars attack men with claw hammer and bat

A man was attacked with a claw hammer in an aggravated burglary at the weekend.

Police said three men got into a flat at Woodbrook Avenue, Lisburn, at about 23:30 BST on Sunday 5 May.

They beat the 32-year-old man with a hammer. He was treated in hospital for lacerations to his head.

Meanwhile, police are appealing for information after another aggravated burglary in Banbridge.

Police said an intruder broke into a house in the Millvale Close area at about 02:00 BST on Sunday.

A male occupant was reportedly attacked with a bat and sustained a cut to the side of his head.

He was later taken to hospital for treatment.
