100 new jobs for north west of Northern Ireland announced

The north west of Northern Ireland is to get 100 new jobs as part of an investment of almost £6m.

The announcement was made by Economy Minister Simon Hamilton during a visit to Londonderry.

The announcement represents an investment of £5.6m, including almost £600,000 from Invest NI.

The jobs will be based at 10 different companies in the Derry, Strabane, Eglinton and Maydown areas.

Many of the positions are well paid and cover areas such as IT, architecture, engineering and design.

Mr Hamilton said the jobs would bring £2.5m a year in salaries to the local economy.
