Cookstown: Pensioner dies after house fire

Two fire engines were sent to the scene but the fire had already burnt itself out, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said.

A man in his 80s has died following a fire at a house in Cookstown, County Tyrone.

The fire, at a property in Lissan Road, was reported to police at 09:50 GMT on Tuesday.

Two fire engines were sent to the scene but the fire had already burnt itself out, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said.

An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious.
