A 34-year-old man has been charged with "serious" terror offences.

He was arrested in Belfast on Friday and is expected to appear in court on Monday.

The charges relate to information recovered during a raid on a house in Ardcarn Park in Newry in November 2014, where police said "significant and serious terrorist activity was detected".

Twelve men were arrested at the time.

The charges include belonging to or professing to belong to a proscribed organisation, conspiracy to possess explosives with intent to endanger life, preparation of terrorist acts and receiving training or instruction in the making or use of weapons for terrorism.
