Banbridge couple tied up and robbed at home by gang

An armed gang have robbed a couple by tying them up in their Banbridge home before stealing money and a Mercedes car.

The couple were not injured but are said to have been left shocked by the incident.

Police said the couple, in their 30s, answered a knock on the door of their house in the Chinauley Park area at about 20:30 BST on Monday.

They were confronted by three men, two of whom had suspected firearms.

The men tied the couple up and demanded money, before ransacking the house.

They made off with cash and the family car, a white Mercedes.

Police described one of the men as being aged in his mid-30s or early 40s, of medium build and height and with dark brown stubble.

The second man is described as being about 6ft tall and well built, while the third is described as about 5ft 5in tall and with a slim build.

Police are appealing for information.
