Coleraine: Man charged with attempted murder

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a man in his 50s was critically injured in an attack in Coleraine, County Londonderry.

The victim was seriously assaulted outside a house in Ballycastle Road in the town at about 01:00 BST on Monday.

The accused, who is 35, is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates' Court next month.

The victim remains in a critical condition at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
