Profits up 14% at Fermanagh-based Cooneen clothing group

Cooneen Group, the Fermanagh-based clothing manufacturer, increased its pre-tax profit by 14% to £8.3m in 2015.

The company also grew its turnover by almost a third from £59m to £78m.

Cooneen operates in a number of specialist product areas, including branded children's nightwear and military body armour.

The directors said the profits had been achieved against "very competitive" market conditions.

The average number of employees over the year was 154, up slightly on 2014.

The group is made up of five companies but the bulk of its operations concerns specialist workwear.

The business is majority owned by County Antrim tycoon John B McGuckian and his family.
