BBC Radio Foyle journalist pleads not guilty to rape

A BBC journalist has denied a series of sex charges including rape when he appeared before Londonderry Crown Court.

Sean O'Halloran, 29, from Northland Road in Derry is accused of raping a woman in May 2014.

The defendant who is a journalist with BBC Radio Foyle faces two additional charges of sexual assault on the same date.

He replied "definitely not guilty" when all three charges were put to him.

A date for his trial - which is expected to last up to five days - has yet to be confirmed.

The accused was released on continuing bail and is due back in court on 8 April.
