Police in Armagh have appealed for the owner of a "distinctive" pocket watch found in a hedge to contact them.

A member of the public made the unusual discovery in the Killuney Road/Portadown Road area on Thursday morning.

The watch was found inside a jewellery box, which was sitting in the hedge.

Police said it has "very distinctive" markings and that they have been unable to locate the owner so far.

In a post on the PSNI Armagh Facebook page, they also said they have no reports of burglaries where the items may have been taken.

They are asking anyone who recognises it or knows someone who has lost a similar item to get in touch on the non-emergency 101 number.
