An American computer company is creating 88 jobs in Belfast, with average salaries of £44,000.

Alert Logic, a cyber security firm with headquarters in Houston, Texas, said the jobs will all be in place by the end of 2017.

Invest NI is providing a grant of more than £500,000.

The company's Belfast office is a security research and technology centre.

Its employees will have a variety of roles, including threat intelligence, analytics and engineering.

Speaking about the Invest NI backing, Finance Minister Mervyn Storey said: "Cyber security and cloud [computing] security are two of the fastest growing sectors in the market.

"This support will help create high-quality jobs for the future and will further contribute to the dynamic, growing economy of Northern Ireland."
