First Trust Bank boss Des Moore warns UK exit from EU could impact on rural economy

The head of the First Trust Bank in Northern Ireland says a UK exit from the European Union could have a significant impact on the rural economy.

Des Moore told the BBC's Inside Business programme there should be an informed debate ahead of the forthcoming referendum on leaving the EU.

"Northern Ireland as a rural economy has quite a level of dependence on CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) and single farm payments," he said.

"We cannot lose sight of that.

"We would probably welcome a more informed debate overall and hopefully we get to that early decision."
