Man suffers slash wounds to face in north Belfast attack

A man has suffered slash wounds to his face after an attack in north Belfast.

The victim, 24, was found in an entry off Glencairn Way shortly after 05:00 GMT on New Year's Day.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, but they are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police believe he was attacked by another man and are appealing for anyone with information on the assault to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
