Bangor: Cash taken during armed robbery of burrito bar

Three men, one believed to have been armed with a gun, have taken cash during a robbery of a burrito bar in County Down.

It happened at a premises on the Rathgael Road in Bangor shortly before 09:00 GMT on Saturday.

Two of the men forced their way inside while the other stayed at the door.

One pointed the weapon at a staff member, who was punched before the men tried to set fire to the shop and took a sum of money.

The staff member suffered swelling to his face in the attack.

The three men are described as wearing long black coats with hoods and scarves.

DUP MLA Peter Weir said: "These are vicious criminal thugs who clearly put their own gain ahead of the safety of hard-working members of the public."

Police have asked for anyone who witnessed the robbery to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
