BBC Northern Ireland wins four CIPR NI Media Awards

BBC Northern Ireland has picked up four awards at the CIPR NI Media Awards.

BBC NI's long-running current affairs series, Spotlight, won for news/current affairs programme of the year.

Broadcaster Stephen Nolan picked up the news/current affairs presenter of the year award, while Marie Louise Muir was named entertainment presenter of the year.

BBC Radio Ulster's Vinny Hurrell won newcomer of the year.

Director of BBC NI, Peter Johnston, said: "We are extremely proud of the awards received at this year's CIPR ceremony and I would like to congratulate all the teams and individuals who won and were nominated.

"It was a very eventful year for us across TV and radio and receiving acknowledgement for this content is testament to the dedication of our teams who continually strive to provide audiences with high quality programmes."

BBC Radio Ulster programmes The Nolan Show and No2s were highly commended for scoop of the year and entertainment programme of the year.
