Woman found dead in Athens was from Fermanagh

A woman whose boyfriend was arrested after she died in Greece was originally from County Fermanagh, it has emerged.

The body of Lorna Boyle, 48, was found in a flat in the Amepolkipoi area of Athens. Her remains had been there for 20 days.

Ms Boyle is believed to have lived in Athens for a number of years.

Sinn Féin councillor Brian McCaffrey, who is from Roslea, said her family was liaising with the Irish embassy.

"They wish to express their gratitude to the embassy staff and the staff at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin for their continuing assistance," he said.
