West Belfast: Police rammed in stolen-car pursuit

Two police officers have been injured after their vehicle was rammed during the pursuit of a stolen car.

Two men, both aged 23, were arrested when the car was abandoned in Suffolk Court in west Belfast at around 18:15 GMT on Tuesday.

A third person, who was a passenger in the grey-coloured Citroen C5, escaped from the scene.

The officers, who did not require hospital treatment, were hurt when the Citroen reversed into their vehicle.

The car had been reported as stolen from a filling station on the Stewartstown Road earlier on Tuesday.

Police used a stinger device on the stolen car during the operation.

The driver was arrested when the car was abandoned, and a passenger was detained a short time later.

Police are still looking for the third individual and have appealed for information.
