Man arrested over theft of cattle in County Tyrone

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged theft of a number of cattle in County Tyrone.

He was arrested in Dungannon on Friday afternoon.

Police received a report that cattle had been stolen from a property on the Tullyroan Road in Dungannon sometime between 20 November and 21 November.

He is being questioned on suspicion of burglary and fraud by false representation.

Ch Insp McMinn, area commander said: "Police working in conjunction with colleagues from the Department of Agriculture searched premises in the Armagh area yesterday, as a result, today we arrested one person.

"We recognise that agricultural crime is a concern for the community.

"We will continue to thoroughly investigate each and every incident and I would appeal for the anyone with information about those involved in agricultural crime to contact police."
