Northern Ireland businesses on tax defaulter list
Two Northern Ireland businesses have been included in a list of tax defaulters published by HM Revenue and Customs on its website.
A County Armagh haulier and proprietors of a Chinese restaurant in Londonderry feature on this quarter's list of 13 tax cheats.
Haulier Patrick Mackin is based at Blue Road in Gilford, County Armagh.
The Chinese restaurant is the Rice Bowl, formerly of Springtown Industrial Estate, Derry.
It was fined more than £43,000 for defaulting on almost £50,000 between May 2010 and July 2012.
Mr Mackin was fined £35,003 for owing the taxman more than £83,000 for the period between April 2010 to November 2011.
HMRC's Jennie Granger, director general for enforcement and compliance, said: "Publishing their names lets the community know we are tackling this and encourages others to get back on track.
"It is always easier if people make a full and prompt disclosure and cooperate with HMRC."
