Man, 29, charged over Cookstown assault

A 29-year-old man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a teenager was assaulted in Cookstown, County Tyrone.

The 19-year-old man was attacked in Monkey Lane, close to James Street, on Sunday evening.

He was treated in hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.

The 29-year-old has also been charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and is due at Omagh Magistrates' Court on Tuesday morning.
