Jason McGovern murder: Woman to face perverting justice charge

A woman arrested in connection with the murder of Monaghan teenager Jason McGovern has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

The 21-year-old is to appear at Omagh Magistrates Court on Tuesday 29 January.

Mr McGovern, a 19-year-old from Tydavnet, was assaulted on two separate occasions during a night out in Omagh.

He was found dead in a house in County Monaghan hours later on New Year's Eve. He had suffered a head injury.

A 21-year-old man arrested on Monday was earlier released on bail pending further inquiries.

Four men and a youth appeared in court on Saturday on charges of affray in connection with Mr McGovern's death.
