The works of Irish author James Joyce will be available to more people from Sunday.

European copyright restrictions on the Dublin-born literary giant's work have been lifted 70 years after his death.

It will no longer be necessary to obtain permission to use Joyce's material.

The easing of the restrictions will be celebrated with a series of literary events throughout the year.
