Workers at a County Donegal amusement arcade, which was gutted in an early morning fire, have said they fear for their jobs.

Fire crews from both sides of the border were called to the blaze at Blackthorn Amusements in Bridgend at about 0630 GMT on Tuesday.

One woman, who is a cleaner at the arcade, said she was "devastated."

"We can't believe it happened," she said.

"A lot of people work there and they are all devastated, it all happened so quick.

"They are lovely people to work for and we just don't know what's going to happen."

Three crews from Derry were called to the scene along with two fire crews from Buncrana and Letterkenny.

Donegal Assistant Chief Fire Officer, Michael Scott, said the building had been "completely gutted".

"When the brigades arrived the fire was coming through the roof," he said.

There are no reports of any injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
