30 jobs 'at risk' at Derry City Council, union warns

Up to 30 jobs are at risk at Derry City Council, a trade union has warned.

On Monday staff were briefed on plans to cut the number of council departments from seven to three.

The assistant general secretry of NIPSA, Bumper Graham, said the union would fight for every job.

"We understand that up to 30 of our members could be affected with either job losses or serious downgrading of posts.

"We will take all action necessary to enforce our members rights."
